The flowing twig-like details along the ribbed surface of the Faux Bois Rectangular Planter were hand-applied by artisans who “sculpt” the concrete over a metal frame to look like a rustic faux bois artifact. The Portland finish that settles into the natural crevices enhances the illusion of age that will bring a nice hint of texture to indoor or outdoor settings. Ornamented with tree branches, the concrete planter sprouting with plants will fool the eye into thinking it is a true antique.

Shallotte Electric

The Shallotte Electric Stores were founded by Alton and Edna (E.B.) Milliken along with two of their teenage sons Al and Jamie. They rented a red and white grocery store building in June of 1971. The family stocked shelves and in some cases used empty boxes to give the appearance of a large inventory. Their timing in starting the business was good as the Brunswick County beaches became more and more popular. As Brunswick County Grew so did the business.
